Shortcuts
A shortcut you remember makes capture automatic. The table below is the factory default. The binding that matters is the one in Settings → Shortcuts.
Global shortcuts (default)
| Action | Default shortcut | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Capture | Alt + Q |
Open region selection immediately |
| Custom capture | Alt + W |
Set position, size, and delay, then capture |
Recording has no global shortcut. Select a region first, then click Record on the toolbar.
While a capture session is open, these global shortcuts are temporarily blocked so a second window does not open.
Keys inside a capture session
| Key | Notes |
|---|---|
Esc |
Cancel and leave the capture |
Ctrl + C |
Copy the selection and finish |
Ctrl + Z |
Undo an annotation |
Delete / Backspace |
Delete the selected mark |
Change a shortcut
- Open Settings → Shortcuts.
- Click the action, press the new combination, and save.
- If it reports a conflict, pick a combination that is free.
- You can turn on “disable shortcuts during a full-screen game” so a game does not trigger a capture.
Conflicts
- If another capture, translation, or input-method tool uses the same keys, keep the binding you use more often and change the other one.
- Some full-screen games and remote desktops swallow global hotkeys. Use the tray menu instead.
