Qianwei Screenshot & Recording

Getting started/Quick start

Quick start

This page gets you through install, a first capture, and a first recording in a few minutes.

1. Install

  1. Open the download page.
  2. Download the Windows installer and run it.
  3. Finish the wizard. You can start the app with Windows so capture is always ready.

After install, the Qianwei Screenshot & Recording icon appears in the taskbar or system tray. The first launch opens a guide covering the tray, shortcuts, and the capture and recording entry points.

2. Your first capture

  1. Press the default shortcut Alt + Q (change it in Settings → Shortcuts), or left-click the tray icon.
  2. Drag to select the region.
  3. Release the mouse to open the annotation view.
  4. Optional: add an arrow, text, mosaic, or another mark.
  5. Click Copy to paste into a chat or document, or Save to keep a file on this PC.
  6. While the session is open: Esc cancels; Ctrl + C copies and finishes.

For a fixed region or a delay, press Alt + W to open custom capture.

3. Your first recording

  1. Press Alt + Q to open the capture selection.
  2. Click Record on the selection toolbar. Recording has no separate global shortcut.
  3. Adjust the region. On the recording toolbar, choose format, frame rate, and audio source.
  4. Start recording. When you are done, stop and save the file on this PC.

More detail is in Screen recording.

4. Sign in (optional)

Some features, such as syncing membership, need a signed-in account. You can sign in to a Qianwei account with WeChat or email. Before sign-in or registration, check that you agree to the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Membership Notice. Basic capture and recording still work without an account (as provided in the current version).
