Scrolling capture
Scrolling capture is for content taller than one screen, such as a long page, a chat history, or a settings list. The app stitches the frames into one image as you scroll.
Steps
- Open the page or window and scroll to the start.
- Start a capture and select the scrolling area. Prefer the content area, and leave unrelated sidebars out.
- Turn on scrolling capture (the control name follows the client).
- Scroll down as prompted. The app collects and stitches automatically.
- Stop when you reach the end, then preview and annotate.
For a cleaner result
- Scroll at a steady speed, and give dynamically loaded content a moment to appear.
- Do not move the pointer out of the content area or switch windows while scrolling.
- A sticky header can leave a repeated strip. Crop it later, or shrink the selection and try again.
Good fits and poor fits
Good fits:
- Articles, and tables that run long in either direction
- Chat history and log lists
Poor fits:
- Video, animation, or anything that keeps changing (use recording instead)
- Hidden layers that appear only after a click (expand them first)
